On April 13, 2022, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov received Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Azerbaijan Wolfgang Manig on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
At the meeting, the sides had a glance at the history of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Germany, noted that relations between the two countries were developing at all levels, as well as an exchange of views took place on the prospects for further cooperation.
Kh.Khalafov noted with satisfaction the importance of continuing the political dialogue between Azerbaijan and Germany and the positive dynamics observed in the economic sphere. Touching upon Azerbaijan's relations with the European Union, he stressed the important role of our country in Europe's energy security. In this regard, the importance of the working visits of the Foreign and Energy Ministers to Berlin last month was emphasized in terms of discussing issues on the bilateral agenda with the new German government.
Kh.Khalafov briefed the opposite side on the situation in the region after the 44-day Patriotic war, Azerbaijan's views on the post-conflict period and the steps taken by our country to establish peace in the region, and praised Germany's understanding of the new realities that have emerged in the region.
Expressing congratulations on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, Ambassador Wolfgang Manig stressed that Azerbaijan is an important economic partner for Germany in the South Caucasus. Ambassador highlighted the importance of the high-level bilateral visits, as well as the development of cooperation between the two countries in political, economic, security, cultural and other fields. W.Manig noted that the embassy attaches special importance to the activities of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Goethe Center in Baku, which contributes to humanitarian relations.
Impact of the historical heritage of the settlement of the German community in Azerbaijan in the 19th century on the good relations between our peoples was also noted with satisfaction. Then the sides got acquainted with the photo album dedicated to the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
