No:168/24, Press release on the meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev

On 15 April 2024, within the framework of his working visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, was received by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
During the meeting, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated that the strategic partnership relations established between our country and the brotherly Republic of Uzbekistan, with which we share historical, cultural, and religious commonalities, have an exemplary character.
He emphasized with satisfaction the enrichment in substance of multifaceted relations between our countries in the political, economic, trade, transport and communications, cultural, humanitarian, and other fields.
The necessity of expanding cooperation based on mutual support and solidarity within regional and international organizations, particularly within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States, which constitutes one of the priority areas for our country, was noted.
It was brought to attention that Azerbaijan will host the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) this year, and that we are ready to cooperate in the implementation of joint events in this direction.
The meeting also discussed other issues on the bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda between the two countries, as well as the regional situation in the post-conflict period.
