No:159/26, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the Minister of State and Foreign Affairs of Portugal Paulo Rangel

On 18 April, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Minister of State and Foreign Affairs of Portugal Paulo Rangel within the framework of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
During the meeting, the prospects for the development of bilateral and multilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Portugal, the expansion of political dialogue, as well as cooperation in economic-trade, humanitarian and other fields were discussed.
The Ministers also discussed opportunities for further expanding cooperation through the Embassy of Portugal planned to be opened in Azerbaijan in the near future.
The sides emphasized the importance of cooperation within the framework of international organizations, as well as the exchange of experience of our countries in the field of multilateral diplomacy. The priorities of our countries within the framework of the United Nations and the European Union were reviewed, and the importance of joint efforts was brought to attention.
The Ministers discussed the regional situation in the post-conflict period. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the other side about the peace agenda implemented by our country and the steps taken.
The sides also exchanged views on regional issues of mutual interest, the situation in the Middle East. They emphasized the importance of restoring stability in the region and expressed hope that the negotiations will be successful.
