No:157/22, Information of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the conference "Azerbaijan-Italy: Path towards a Multidimensional Strategic Partnership" held at ADA University

On April 2, 2022, within the framework of the official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic Luigi Di Maio to Azerbaijan, ADA University hosted a conference entitled "Azerbaijan-Italy: Path towards a Multidimensional Strategic Partnership" dedicated to the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
 
The conference, addressed by the Azerbaijani and Italian foreign ministers, was attended by the Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Emin Amrullayev, Minister of Energy, co-chair of the Azerbaijani-Italian Intergovernmental Commission Parviz Shahbazov, members of the Milli Majlis, as well as leadership, teachers and students of the ADA University.
 
In his speech, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that relations between Italy and Azerbaijan are based on ancient history and are currently developing at a high level. Noting that the two countries are now strategic partners, the Minister expressed satisfaction with the existence of a broad agenda of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy in political, economic and cultural spheres, noting that high-level mutual visits played an important role in the history of these relations.
 
Noting Italy's just approach to the settlement of the former conflict, Jeyhun Bayramov stressed that today Italian companies play an active role in the restoration and construction work carried out in the liberated territories.
 
Noting the existence of a broad agenda of economic and humanitarian cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stressed with satisfaction the mutual support provided by the two countries in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
Minister Bayramov, highlighting the laying of the foundation of the Italian-Azerbaijani University at ADA University as an example of the existing cooperation between the two countries in the field of education, wished success in the activities of this higher educational institution, which will contribute to the development of a dynamic partnership between Azerbaijan and Italy.
 
Minister Luigi Di Maio noted the friendly and strategic nature of partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Italy, emphasizing that Azerbaijan is one of Italy's important trade partners. He said the current visit will give a serious impetus to the further development and deepening of relations between the two countries. The Minister emphasized that the Italian-Azerbaijani University would make a positive contribution to the development of relations in the sphere of education and in a bilateral level, in general.
