No:146/24, Press release on political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Montenegro

On 2 April 2024, the next round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Montenegro was held in the city of Podgorica.
The Azerbaijani delegation was led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Fariz Rzayev, while the Montenegrin delegation was headed by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Milislav Raspopović.
During the consultations, discussions were conducted on the current state and development prospects of cooperation between the two countries in political, economic and humanitarian fields, as well as on strategic energy and transport projects implemented by our country.
Issues of cooperation within international organizations were also addressed. In this regard, the other side was informed about the preparations and planned activities related to the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), to be organized in Azerbaijan in November 2024.
During the meeting, detailed information was provided on the post-conflict situation in the region, the steps taken by Azerbaijan towards establishing lasting peace, the mine problem in the liberated territories, and the ongoing reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts in those areas.
The consultations also covered international and regional issues, as well as other topics of mutual interest.
During the visit, F. Rzayev also held working meetings with other officials of Montenegro.
