On March 5, 2026, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel, Gideon Sa’ar, held a phone call with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov.
During the telephone conversation, the parties exchanged views on the increasing security risks in the region, particularly the military tensions and their impact on regional stability.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed his counterpart about the drone attacks carried out on March 5, 2026, by the Islamic Republic of Iran against the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He emphasized that this action violates our country’s sovereignty and the norms and principles of international law.
The Israeli side condemned the attack, described it as unacceptable, and expressed solidarity with Azerbaijan.
