The Republic of Azerbaijan has resumed the activities of its Embassy in Damascus, the capital of Syria, after a 13-year hiatus.
For this purpose, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy has already been assigned to the city of Damascus and has commenced his duties.
The Republic of Azerbaijan, based on the principles of international law, supports the establishment of lasting peace and stability in Syria.
At this important stage, when new opportunities have emerged for the advancement of Azerbaijan-Syria relations of friendship and cooperation to a qualitatively new level and for the development of partnership in political, economic, cultural and other fields, our Embassy will closely cooperate with the transitional government of Syria and support the development of our bilateral relations.
