No:045/21, Information of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
On February 4, 2021, the meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held. The meeting was attended by members of the Foreign Ministry's Board, ambassadors-at-large, and heads of departments.
Opening the meeting, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov spoke about the new realities and new challenges in the field of foreign policy after the glorious victory of our country in the Patriotic War and ensuring its territorial integrity.
The Minister, referring to the main tasks set by the head of state, noted the need, in this regard, to actively carry out our diplomacy in accordance with the new realities, consistently, systematically and effectively convey Azerbaijani realities to the world community, revitalize the activities of our diplomatic missions abroad in this direction, establish their close relationship with diaspora organizations, and other issues. The Minister stressed the need to attract professional and patriotic personnel to fulfill these tasks.
During the meeting, the heads of departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs provided information on the following issues.
It was reported that the personnel to be sent to our diplomatic missions abroad will be selected, in accordance with the existing vacancies, as a result of an internal competition organized by the Foreign Ministry starting from November 2020 as part of the structural reforms.
The recruitment system for the Foreign Ministry on the basis of new selection criteria was also discussed. In order to ensure the transparency of the personnel policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was noted that during the current year, recruitment to the Ministry will be organized on the basis of an open competition for the public, along with this, starting from this year, the active involvement of existing personnel in various advanced training programs will be ensured.
It was noted that in order to increase the efficiency, a new electronic document management system was introduced in the Ministry, the timely and full implementation of documents was taken under control, several projects were launched to provide electronic services in the field of consular services to citizens of Azerbaijan and foreign countries.
The participants of the Board’s meeting exchanged views on the issues on the agenda. It was noted that a meeting with the participation of the heads of our diplomatic missions will be held in the near future.
