On 30 January 2026, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Elnur Mammadov received the professional staff of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, discussions focused on the current regional situation, the significance of the agreements reached within the framework of the Washington Peace Summit on 8 August, the Azerbaijan–Armenia normalization process and measures related to the peace agreement, the near-finalized draft of the U.S.–Azerbaijan Strategic Partnership Charter, as well as other bilateral and mutually interesting issues on the agenda.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on initiatives concerning Azerbaijan raised in Congress, and the importance of the repeal of Section 907 of the Freedom Support Act in relation to Azerbaijan was emphasized.
