No: 40/17, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Alan Duncan, Minister of State for Europe and the Americas, Deputy Foreign Minister of the United Kingdom
Foreig Minister Elmar Mammadyarov had a meeting with Alan Duncan, Minister of State for Europe and the Americas, Deputy Foreign Minister of the United Kingdom on the sidelines of the 53rd Munich Security Conference.
At the meeting, the sides discussed the current status of Azerbaijan-United Kingdom bilateral relations, exchanged their views on the future development perspectives of cooperation in various fields.
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov highly appreciated the cooperation with BP company in the field of energy, as well as exploration of the oil and gas fields of Azerbaijan. Minister talked about the large-scale energy projects – the Southern Gas Corridor, TAP and TANAP projects implemented in the region with the initiative and participation of Azerbaijan, noted their significant role in ensuring the energy security of Europe.
Alan Duncan expressed his country’s interest in advancing the bilateral cooperation with Azerbaijan.
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov also informed his interlocutor about the negotiations process on the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
During the meeting other issues of mutual concern were discussed, as well.
