Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received newly appointed Ambassador of Romania to Azerbaijan Dan Iancu
At the meeting Ambassador Dan Iancu presented the copy of his credentials to Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov congratulated Dan Iancu on his appointment and wished him success in his future activities.
They expressed satisfaction with development level of bilateral political relations between Azerbaijan and Romania which are based on friendship and partnership. The cooperation of the two countries within international organizations was also commended.
The Ambassador noted that Romania consistently and unequivocally supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan within its internationally recognized borders.
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov stressed that the just and fair position of Romania towards the settlement of Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict is highly appreciated.
At the meeting they also exchanged views on prospects for development of cooperation in energy, transport, economy, trade and humanitarian fields.
