On April 8, 2015 Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received Michael Georg Link, Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights.
Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov expressed his regrets over the biased activities of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights during the presidential elections held in 2013. Stressing the biased and nonobjective attitude of the OSCE ODIHR during the elections Minister Elmar Mammadyarov added that it is unacceptable this institution to become a political tool in the hands of certain circles.
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov expressed his hopefulness that under the newly appointed director the OSCE ODIHR would become more independent and will gain the confidence rendered by the Member States.
Noting out that during the visit to Azerbaijan he held several fruitful meetings, Michael Georg Link added that the comments are taken into the serious consideration and the ODHIR intends to continue the institutional cooperation with Azerbaijan.
