Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, Ms. Vesna Pusic
Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, Ms. Vesna Pusic within his official visit to Croatia, on July 7-8, 2015.
Both sides expressed satisfaction on the level of development of the bilateral relations was mentioned at the meeting.
Ms. Pusic underlined that Croatia and Azerbaijan maintain strategic partnership ties and stressed the successful development of the bilateral relationship in the field of economy, energy and political affairs. Reiterating position of Croatia on Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, Ms. Pusic pointed out that Croatia supports Azerbaijan’s fair stance on the conflict and believes for peaceful settlement of the conflict.
Elmar Mammadyarov said that the position of Croatia on the settlement of Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict based on the principles of international law, particularly the territorial integrity, sovereignty and inviolability of borders and the continued support by Croatia within international organizations in this regard is highly appreciated.
The sides also mentioned the importance of holding the first meeting of the Commission on Joint Economic Cooperation for promoting economic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Croatia.
Azerbaijan’s role in providing energy security of Europe, delivering of energy sources from Azerbaijan to the region, cooperation in the framework of international organizations and other issues of mutual interest were also discussed at the meeting.
