Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with the delegation headed by David Harris, Executive Director of the American Jewish Committee, on the sidelines of the 70th Session of the UN General Assembly on 25 September, 2015
The sides emphasized that visits of the American Jewish Committee (AJC) to Azerbaijan and close acquaintance with our country, meetings and exchanging opinions within the international events are worthwhile experience.
The sides also noted that with bringing Azerbaijani realities to the wider public, AJC contributes to the development of bilateral relations of Azerbaijan with the United States of America and Israel.
David Harris reminded his fruitful visit to Azerbaijan this year and said that AJC is expected to pay a visit to our country again the next year.
The sides stressed the exemplary nature of Azerbaijan’s rich tolerance and multiculturalism traditions.
Elmar Mammadyarov noted that it would be a pleasure to see representatives of the AJC in Azerbaijan.
During the meeting representatives of the AJC were also informed about the negotiations on resolution of Armenia-Azerbaijani conflict and non-constructive stance of Armenia. It was stressed that the ongoing occupation and aggression of Armenia against Azerbaijan remains a main threat to the regional peace and security.
The sides had also generic exchange of views on the several issues of mutual interest.
