Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Paraguay
Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on the 20th of April 2004.
On the 23rd of March 2019, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Elmar Mammadyarov, paid a visit to Paraguay within the framework of his working visit to Argentina on the 20th to the 21st of March 2019 to participate in the High-Level UN Conference on South-South Cooperation.
Inter-parliamentary relations
The Senate (24th of July 2014) and the Chamber of Deputies (28th of August 2014) of the National Congress of the Republic of Paraguay both adopted resolutions on the establishment of a friendship group for inter-parliamentary relations with Azerbaijan. The group’s leader in the Senate is Mr Juan Bartolomé Ramírez Brizuela.
