Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov received the Ambassadors of OSCE member states accredited in the Republic of Azerbaijan
On April 4 2016, Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov received the Ambassadors of OSCE member states accredited in the Republic of Azerbaijan and briefed about the tense situation in the territories of Azerbaijan along the line of contact of Armenia and Azerbaijan armed forces, which has been going on since 2nd of April.
Stressing the important role of ceasefire for the peaceful solution of the conflict, Azerbaijan side pointed out that Armenia is constantly violating the ceasefire in order to prolong the status quo and to divert the attention from the substantive issues needed for the peace process. Deputy Minister mentioned that Armenia's such provocative actions usually coincide with the times when there is a positive trend in the peace process.
The Deputy Minister stressed the importance of the immediate restoration of ceasefire and reasonable peace process. In this regard the Azerbaijan official recalled that the Azerbaijani side declared a unilateral ceasefire. He emphasized that the conflict can only be solved within the framework of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.
