Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov had an audience of H.E.Mr. Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt within his official visit to Egypt
At the meeting Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov conveyed the warm greetings and letter of H.E. Mr.Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi asked to convey his greetings and the most sincere wishes to H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting the satisfaction was expressed with cooperation between the two countries and mutual support within international organizations. Abdel Fattah el-Sisi highly appreciated the traditions of tolerance and multiculturalism of Azerbaijan and noted importance of the Islam solidarity. At the meeting it was stressed that Islam is a religion of peace, solidarity and tolerance.
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said that Egypt’s support to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan and its stance on the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict through negotiations in compliance with the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council is appreciated.
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov informed that next year Azerbaijan will host IV Islam Solidarity Games and invited Egyptian athletes actively participate at this Games. He also spoke about Azerbaijan’s contribution to the strengthening intercultural and inter-civilization dialogue.
During the meeting the issues of cooperation in economic field between Azerbaijan and Egypt was discussed. Six years long collaboration built up between SOCAR and EGPC was highly appreciated. It was noted that there are great perspectives of this cooperation.
At the meeting views were also exchanged on the prospects of bilateral relations in different spheres.
