Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Tomas Tsvaifellhofer, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Economy, Internal Affairs and Justice of the Principality of Liechtenstein within his official visit

Tomas Tsvaifellhofer appreciated Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov’s official visit to the Principality of Liechtenstein as milestone event in the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Liechtenstein. He noted that his country is interested in enhancing the cooperation with Azerbaijan in all fields.

During the meeting, Minister Elmar Mammadyarov also updated about the latest status on the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict and expressed our country’s just position on the settlement of the conflict.

Touching upon the issues of economic cooperation, Minister Elmar Mammadyarov underscored the existence of wide opportunities for the development of relations in this area. E.Mammadyarov informed his interlocutor about the large-scale infrastructure and transport projects such as East-West and North-South railway being implemented in the region with the initiative and participation of our country. Noting that Liechtenstein is one of the most industrialized countries of Europe, he invited the companies of Liechtenstein to be more active in Azerbaijan and take part in above-mentioned projects.

At the meeting, the sides stressed the importance of signing the agreements on double taxation avoidance, as well as investment protection in order to expand the cooperation in the fields of trade and investment between Azerbaijan and Liechtenstein.

The sides also touched the issues of promoting ties among business circles of the two countries.

Tomas Tsvaifellhofer added that he supports the idea of establishment of initial contacts between the chambers of commerce of the two countries and organization of mutual visits of business delegations. Referring to the successful activity of “Hilty” company in Azerbaijan, he expressed his satisfaction with the business environment in Azerbaijan.

At the meeting, TAP and TANAP projects, other aspects of cooperation in the economic-trade field were also discussed.
