Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received Wei Jinghua, newly appointed Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov congratulated Ambassador Wei Jinghua on being appointed to Azerbaijan and wished him success in the future activities. The Ambassador presented a copy of his credentials to Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov. Ambassador Wei Jinghua noted that he will spare no efforts to further develop the relations between the two countries.
At the meeting the sides stressed the importance of the visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E Mr. Ilham Aliyev to China, his meetings and the signed documents in the development of bilateral relations between the two countries.
The sides also emphasized the necessity to enhance economic and trade relations in line with consistently developing political dialogue between our countries based on the mutual confidence. The sides noted that the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway which will be operational soon, will make tangible contribution to the realization of Silk Road Economic Belt project initiated by China.
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov commended the support of China, especially as a Permanent Member of the UN Security Council, to the territorial integrity, sovereignty and inviolability of borders of Azerbaijan within the international organizations. Ambassador stressed that support to the territorial integrity of states is an invariable and principal position of his country.
At the meeting the sides exchanged their views on other issues of mutual interest.
