Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received a delegation of ambassadors of several countries to Switzerland who are visiting Azerbaijan by the initiative of Azerbaijani Embassy to Swiss Confederation
Speaking about foreign policy priorities of Azerbaijan, Elmar Mammadyarov informed the guests about the reforms conducted in our country in the fields of strengthening the state independence, energy and transport strategy, diversification of economy, science and education and social prosperity, all these in the backdrop of processes happening in the world political arena.
Touching upon the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan as a principal obstacle for the establishment of peace and stability in the region, Elmar Mammadyarov mentioned that this conflict remains unsolved so far due to the non-constructive position of Armenia. He stressed that, according to the demands of UN Security Council resolutions, Armenia must withdraw its occupational forces from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
Ambassadors shared their impressions on the considerable achievements gained by Azerbaijan during its 23 years of independence and mentioned that, there is already a newly emerged development model in the world, called “Azerbaijani miracle”. They confirmed having witnessed people in Azerbaijan living freely, prosperously and with a hope for future.
The invitees stated that, the political, economic and social accomplishments obtained by Azerbaijan during last decade have enabled this country to host such a huge sport event as first ever European Games. They expressed their confidence about Azerbaijan’s hosting this prestigious event in the highest level.
The parties maintained an exchange of views on the mutually interesting topics.
