On removal of the name of Hitoshi Omae, citizen of Japan, representative of “Mainichi” news agency from the “List of foreign citizens illegally visited to the occupied territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan”
A citizen of Japan, representative of “Mainichi” news agency Hitoshi Omae addressed an official letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs asking for removal of his name from the “List of foreign citizens illegally visited to the occupied territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan”.
In his letter H.Omae noted that he was unaware about the illegality of his visit to the occupied territories without consent of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He expressed his regret for this visit and assured that the articles he published on the results of the visit did not serve for the interests of any party. H.Omae reaffirmed his full respect to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Indicating his intention to visit Azerbaijan in order to deliver to the Japanese society more accurate and objective information about Azerbaijan, as well as the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, H.Omae asked for the visit to Azerbaijan.
The appeal by Hitoshi Omae, including his status as media representative was considered and the removal of his name from the list was decided.
