No:610/22, Press release on summoning of the Ambassador of France to Azerbaijan to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
On December 28, 2022, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of France to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Anne Bouillon, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and handed a note of protest addressed to the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France.
During the meeting, deep concern was expressed over the expansion and continuation of the campaign based on open slander and prejudice against Azerbaijan by various French political forces against the backdrop of the lack of a necessary response from the French government.
In this context, it was stated that it is unacceptable to make groundless accusations against Azerbaijan, to call for steps that embody an attack on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country in a letter addressed to the President of France on behalf of the leaders of the political forces represented in the French Parliament a few days ago, and the allegations reflected in the aforementioned letter were categorically rejected.
It was emphasized that the abovementioned letter is a continuation of a series of measures against Azerbaijan and statements carried out purposefully and systematically, including the adoption of resolutions full of groundless accusations against Azerbaijan by both chambers of the French Parliament.
Azerbaijani side drew attention to the need to take appropriate measures in order to immediately stop the campaign against Azerbaijan by the French government.
