On December 7, 2022, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov met with the Secretary General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Dato Lim Jock Hoi at the headquarters of ASEAN within the framework of his visit to the Republic of Indonesia. During the meeting, it was noted that Azerbaijan pays special attention to cooperation within the framework of international organizations. Recalling that Indonesia will chair ASEAN in 2023, Azerbaijan's interest in expanding cooperation with ASEAN and taking practical steps in this direction was expressed. Dato Lim Jock Hoi was thanked for accepting Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan as an observer in the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA).

Later, a meeting was held with Hon Nguyen Tuong Van, Secretary General of AIPA. During the meeting, E. Mammadov expressed his satisfaction with the acceptance of Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan as an observer at the 43rd General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly held in Cambodia on November 23, 2022. He expressed confidence that the relations between Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan and AIPA will develop more dynamically from now on.

Within the framework of the visit, Elnur Mammadov met with Ambassador Diar Nurbintoro, Director of the South-South Technical Cooperation Center of the Non-Aligned Movement. During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the productive activities of Azerbaijan within the framework of the Chairmanship to the Movement. Later, a round table on "30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Indonesia" was held under the moderatorship of Diar Nurbintoro and with the participation of representatives of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, leading think tanks, higher education institutions, and local media. During the discussions, noting that 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, E. Mammadov gave extensive information about the agenda of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Indonesia in various fields during these years, both on a bilateral and multilateral basis, and also drew attention to the existence of potential for further development of these relations. Also, he spoke in detail about the productive activity of Azerbaijan within the framework of its chairmanship to the NAM. The questions asked by the participants were answered within the framework of the event.

Within the framework of the visit, the delegation led by Deputy Minister E. Mammadov participated in the 15th session of the Bali Democracy Forum in Indonesia on "Democracy in a Changing World: Leadership and Solidarity" and the International Conference "Women's Education in Afghanistan", and the Deputy Minister made a speech at both events. During the events, E. Mammadov held meetings with foreign ministers of a number of countries.

During his visit to Indonesia, E. Mammadov gave an interview to "One to One" program of "CNN Indonesia" and "Voice of Indonesia" state radio. During the interview, attention was paid to the achievements between the countries during the 30-year period of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, to the future prospects for the further development and strengthening of these relations, as well as to Azerbaijan's activities within the framework of its chairmanship in the Non-Aligned Movement.
