No:566/22, Press release on the telephone conversation between Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov and US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfried
On December 8, 2022, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs of the United States, Karen Donfried.
During the telephone conversation, an exchange of views took place on the current situation and prospects of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as various issues of the cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and the United States.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided information on the current state of negotiations on the peace agreement, efforts on opening communications and delimitation issues. In addition, recent illegal activities carried out using the Lachin road were mentioned.
Karen Donfried emphasized that the United States supports efforts to ensure stability in the region. She said that it is important to advance the peace process in accordance with the agreements reached between the leaders and ministers.
