On 24 December 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, received Lee Eun Yong, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, in connection with the completion of his diplomatic activity in our country.
During the meeting, the Azerbaijan–Korea bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda was discussed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov thanked Ambassador Lee Eun Yong for his efforts during his diplomatic activity in our country and wished him success in his future activities.
During the meeting, where the current state of cooperation in the fields of economy, investments, transport-communications, humanitarian affairs, education, public services and other directions over the period of more than 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries was discussed, it was also emphasized that there are prospects for the development of our relations.
In particular, it was noted that the Baku State Vocational Education Center for Industry and Innovations, established within the framework of joint cooperation in the fields of vocational and higher education, and the dual diploma programs of INHA University of the Republic of Korea and Baku Engineering University are among the important achievements obtained.
It was stressed that there are broader cooperation opportunities between Azerbaijan and Korea, especially between relevant institutions, in the field of public services, and that our country, as one of the pioneers of this field with the “ASAN service” model, is interested in further developing mutually beneficial cooperation.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov spoke in detail about our country’s climate diplomacy efforts, Azerbaijan’s Presidency of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) held in Azerbaijan, and the achievements obtained within the framework of the session.
Ambassador Lee Eun Yong expressed gratitude for the support and cooperation shown during his activity in our country and noted that he is hopeful for the future development of Azerbaijan–Korea relations.
At the meeting, an exchange of views was also conducted on other issues of mutual interest.
