No:507/24, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with Miloš Vučević, Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia

On 23 December 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with Miloš Vučević, Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, within the framework of his working visit to the Republic of Serbia.

 

During the meeting, prospects for bilateral, including multilateral, cooperation between Azerbaijan and Serbia, as well as regional and international security issues were discussed.

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted the importance of high- and highest-level visits and contacts in the development of existing strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Serbia, and the importance of maintaining the existing dynamics in this field was emphasized.

 

It was noted that the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation is an important platform, particularly in the direction of further expanding economic-trade cooperation between the two countries.

 

Satisfaction was expressed with the current state of cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy, and prospects for cooperation were touched upon. The importance of cooperation in the field of alternative energy production and export was noted. Information was provided on our country’s potential in the field of green energy production.

 

Along with this, mutual interest was expressed in the implementation of joint projects between our countries in the field of tourism, and in this regard, in the establishment of direct air transport links.

 

Detailed information was presented on the outcomes of the COP29 event held in our country this year, and it was stressed that joint efforts in the field of climate diplomacy are important. Confidence was expressed that the Expo 2027 event will create additional cooperation opportunities between our countries.

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also informed the other side in detail about the current situation in the region in the post-conflict period, large-scale restoration and construction works carried out in the liberated territories, efforts to combat the mine threat, as well as the Azerbaijan–Armenia normalization process.

 

During the meeting, an exchange of views was also conducted on other issues of mutual interest.
