No:500/22, Press release on the telephone conversation between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Karen Donfried
On October 28, 2022, a telephone conversation was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and the US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfried.
During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, perspectives on peace efforts, as well as various issues of the cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and the United States.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov briefed his counterpart about the current situation in the region, various directions of normalization process of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the known position and proposal of Azerbaijan regarding the future peace agreement, as well as the steps taken by Azerbaijan to that end. The minister pointed out that Azerbaijan still awaits Armenia's response concerning the peace treaty elements presented at the end of the Geneva meeting.
Karen Donfried emphasized that the United States support the efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region. She said that it is important to advance the peace process in accordance with the agreements reached between the leaders and ministers.
