No:466/25, Press release on political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Russia

On 9 December 2025, the next round of political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation was held in Baku.
The delegations were led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Samir Sharifov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Mikhail Galuzin.
An extensive exchange of views took place on the current state of Azerbaijan–Russia bilateral relations, as well as on international and regional issues on the agenda and of mutual interest.
It was emphasized that the agreements reached during the meeting between the leaders of the two countries held on 9 October this year in Dushanbe form the basis of bilateral political dialogue.
During the political consultations, prospects for cooperation between the two countries in economic, trade, humanitarian and other fields were also discussed.
In addition, cooperation within regional platforms was reviewed, and the counterpart was provided with detailed information on the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia conducted on a bilateral basis.
