No:450/24, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with Jean-Charles Ellermann-Kingombe, Assistant Secretary General of NATO for Innovation, Hybrid and Cyber

On 15 November 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with Jean-Charles Ellermann-Kingombe, Assistant Secretary General of NATO for Innovation, Hybrid and Cyber, within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).

 

At the meeting, existing partnership issues between Azerbaijan and NATO, and prospects for cooperation within the framework of our COP29 Presidency were discussed.

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted with satisfaction that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the “Partnership for Peace” Programme, which laid the foundation for cooperation between our country and NATO, and that within this framework, a number of joint projects have been implemented in an atmosphere of mutual cooperation.

 

It was stated that during 30 years of our partnership, Azerbaijan’s exemplary participation in NATO peacekeeping operations, as well as active participation in mutually beneficial cooperation within the framework of NATO, have led to our country being recognized as a reliable partner.

 

It was stressed that within the framework of our COP29 Presidency, we are also ready to cooperate with NATO in the direction of advancing climate action.

 

During the meeting, an exchange of views was also conducted on other issues of mutual interest.
