No:443/25, Press release on the meeting of the Cooperation Committee on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE)

On 27 November 2025, the first meeting of the Cooperation Committee on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates was held in Abu Dhabi.
The Committee was established based on the Joint Declaration on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Azerbaijan and the UAE, signed during the visit of the President of the UAE to Azerbaijan on 16 September this year. The meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Yalchin Rafiyev and Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the UAE Saeed Al Hajeri.
In accordance with the format of the meeting, sessions of the subcommittees on political and diplomatic, economic, humanitarian, defense and law enforcement, as well as energy and sustainability issues were held first. During these discussions, existing areas of cooperation, proposals for the development of bilateral relations, and potential joint projects were reviewed.
Within the framework of the Committee, a tête-à-tête meeting was held between Deputy Minister Y. Rafiyev and Minister of State S. Al Hajeri. This was followed by an expanded meeting with the participation of representatives of relevant institutions and ambassadors of both countries, chaired by the co-chairs. The co-chairs of the subcommittees presented information on the proposals and projects put forward. The co-chairs expressed their expectations regarding the achievement of concrete results, including the agreement and adoption of roadmaps and action plans. In addition, modalities and the schedule of future meetings and the overall work of the Committee were determined.
During the meeting, great satisfaction was expressed with the dynamic development of Azerbaijan-UAE relations in recent years.
The key role of mutual visits of the Heads of State and the agreements reached and documents signed during these visits in elevating bilateral relations to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership was emphasized.
Alongside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of the Ministries of Economy, Energy, Justice, Defense, Internal Affairs, Digital Development and Transport, Science and Education, Culture and Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the State Tourism Agency, SOCAR, and the Azerbaijan Investment Holding participated in the meeting.
