On 12 November 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with Luis Gilberto Murillo, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Colombia, within the framework of the World Leaders Climate Action Summit of the 29th session of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).
At the meeting, prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Colombia, our country’s COP29 Presidency, existing initiatives and priorities were discussed.
It was stressed that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Colombia in the bilateral, including multilateral, formats within the framework of international organizations such as the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement causes satisfaction.
The importance of using the political consultations mechanism in the direction of assessing and discussing existing opportunities for further expanding relations between the two countries was emphasized.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, providing detailed information on our country’s COP29 Presidency, noted that our Presidency process has expanded our cooperation opportunities in the field of combating climate change with many countries, including Colombia.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also conducted on other issues of mutual interest.
