No:432/25, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker

On 19 November, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received the U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker.
During the meeting, an extensive exchange of views was held on the current state and prospects of Azerbaijan-U.S. bilateral cooperation, the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process, as well as regional and global security issues.
Recalling with satisfaction the agreements reached during the historic Washington meeting on 8 August, the importance of joint efforts to develop strategic partnership between the two countries was noted. The significance of strengthening cooperation in the fields of regional stability, energy security and the expansion of transport corridors was emphasized. In this context, it was brought to attention that we are interested in accelerating the implementation of the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” by the United States in order to ensure unhindered connectivity between the mainland of Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
The areas of activity of the Strategic Working Group between the two countries aimed at preparing the Strategic Partnership Charter, which will serve to strengthen strategic partnership in areas of mutual interest, were reviewed, and the importance of establishing an institutional framework for bilateral practical cooperation was highlighted.
The peace and stability agenda in the South Caucasus region, as well as the directions of activities for the upcoming period within bilateral and multilateral platforms, were discussed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the other side about the steps taken within the normalization process, as well as reconstruction and restoration works in the post-conflict period.
An exchange of views on the situation in the Middle East and other regional issues of mutual interest was also included in the meeting.
