No:408/24, Press release on multilateral political consultations of the Organization of Turkic States
Multilateral political consultations of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) were held at the level of deputy foreign ministers in Ankara, the capital of the Republic of Türkiye.
Elnur Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs led the delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan in multilateral political consultations.
Current viewpoints and future plans for enhancing cooperation in a variety of areas—political, economic, trade, transport-communications, humanitarian, etc.—as well as issues arising from the Organization's Bishkek Summit were discussed during the political consultations.
It was particularly noted that the political consultations took place on the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the OTS which was founded by the Nakhchivan Agreement. On this occasion, Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov presented Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization a special gift dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the historic Nakhchivan Agreement.
It was mentioned that the development of cooperation in the Turkic world in a number of areas within the Organization's framework over the last 15 years is delighting, as well as importance of continuing efforts in this direction by using existing opportunities was underlined.
It was stated that Azerbaijan places a high value to the further development of the Organization that brings the Turkic world together which we see as our family, has taken a number of initiatives in this direction and the importance of the Informal Summit held in the city of Shusha this year and the adoption of the Garabagh Declaration.
Azerbaijan's preparations for the 29th Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), as well as post-conflict situation in the region, current state of our country's reconstruction and peace efforts were all covered in detail by Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov.
Heads of the delegations also met with Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye during the multilateral political consultations.
