On 22 October 2025, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia Margus Tsahkna, who is on a visit to our country.
The tête-à-tête meeting between Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Minister Margus Tsahkna was later continued in an expanded format with the participation of the delegations of both sides.
During the meetings, current issues on the Azerbaijan-Estonia bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda, as well as regional and global issues were discussed.
An exchange of views was held on the continuation of political dialogue and mutual visits between our countries, strengthening the legal-contractual framework, as well as possibilities for intensifying inter-parliamentary contacts.
The importance of respect for the legitimate interests of our countries and mutual support within the frameworks of the United Nations, the OSCE and the institutions of the European Union was emphasized. In this context, cooperation relations were reviewed.
The prospects for the development of economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Estonia were touched upon, and it was noted that there is great potential for increasing mutual trade and investments. The importance of cooperation relations between our countries in the field of education was emphasized.
The importance of activating the activities of the Azerbaijan-Estonia Intergovernmental Commission on trade and economic cooperation in order to fully utilize the potential of cooperation in the fields of digital economy, renewable energy and connectivity was noted.
The large-scale reconstruction and rebuilding works carried out in the territories liberated from occupation of Azerbaijan were discussed.
During the meeting, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also informed his counterpart about the latest developments in the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process, and in this context, the historical significance of the results of the Washington Summit and the initialling of the peace agreement was noted.
The necessity of removing territorial claims against our country from the Constitution of Armenia in order to establish lasting peace in the region and sign a peace agreement was emphasized.
After the meetings, a joint press conference was organized, and the ministers made statements on the outcomes of the meetings.
