No:393/25, Press release on the visit of Deputy Minister Fariz Rzayev to Hungary

On 14 October 2025, the first meeting of political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary was held in the city of Budapest.

 

The delegations were led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Fariz Rzayev and State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Boglárka Illés.

 

During the consultations, discussions were held on the current state and development prospects of cooperation between the two countries in political, economic and humanitarian fields, as well as on strategic energy and transport projects implemented by our country.

 

Prospects for further expansion of the existing effective cooperation within international organizations were also addressed. In this context, gratitude was expressed to Hungary for hosting at a high level the informal Summit meeting of the Organization of Turkic States held in Budapest on 21 May this year, and the importance of the discussions held and decisions adopted at the 12th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States held in the city of Gabala on 7 October was emphasized.

 

During the consultations, the outcomes of the Summit meeting held in the city of Washington on 8 August this year between the leaders of Azerbaijan, the United States and Armenia were appreciated, and the other side was informed about the establishment of peace in the region and the prospects for the development of regional cooperation.

 

Gratitude was expressed for the friendly support provided by Hungary in the demining of our liberated territories, as well as in reconstruction and rebuilding works.

 

At the meeting, an exchange of views was held on other global, regional and bilateral issues of mutual interest.

 

Within the framework of the visit, F.Rzayev also held working meetings with a number of other Hungarian officials, as well as participated in discussions held in a roundtable format with representatives of leading research centers.
