On 9 September 2025, the fourth meeting of the Strategic Dialogue between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Latvia was held.
The delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Fariz Rzayev, and the delegation of the Republic of Latvia was led by Deputy State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ivars Lasis.
During the meeting, bilateral relations, as well as the current state and prospects for the development of cooperation in political, economic and humanitarian fields were discussed. The importance of developing partnership within the framework of international organizations was emphasized.
The counterpart side was provided with detailed information on the current situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, efforts to combat the mine threat, the large-scale reconstruction works carried out by Azerbaijan in the territories liberated from occupation, as well as the progress of the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process and the results of the Washington meeting of 8 August 2025, as well as the decision of the OSCE Ministerial Council dated 1 September of the current year on the closure of the OSCE Minsk Process and related structures.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also held on other global, regional and bilateral issues of mutual interest.
