No:353/21,  Information of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the bilateral meetings of the Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the NAM Member States’ Ministers of Foreign Affairs within the framework of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov has held bilateral meetings with NAM Member States’ Ministers of Foreign Affairs, including Foreign Minister of Guatemala Pedro Brolo Vila, Foreign Minister of Syria Faisal Mekdad, Foreign Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis Mark Brantley, and Foreign Minister of Grenada Peter David, Lesotho ‘Matṥepo Ramakoae within the framework of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly.

 

The sides exchanged views on cooperation between Azerbaijan and the NAM Member States, as well as important issues on the agenda of the Movement.

 

Noting the successful development of bilateral relations, the sides stressed the prospects for further expansion of political and inter-parliamentary relations, economic cooperation, expansion and development of trade relations, cooperation in the humanitarian, cultural, tourism, science, education, as well as other areas of mutual interest.

 

During the meetings, important initiatives and many results of Azerbaijan's chairmanship in the Non-Aligned Movement were discussed. 

 

Other sides praised Azerbaijan's successful chairmanship of the NAM and the globally important initiatives put forward by the President of Azerbaijan as chairman of the NAM in the fight against COVID-19.

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed his interlocutors on the 44-day Patriotic War, the Trilateral Statement of November 10, 2020, and its implementation, as well as post-conflict restoration and reconstruction works.

 

The sides also exchanged views on cooperation and mutual support within the framework of international organizations, as well as issues of interest on the agenda of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly.
