No:337/22, Information of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan regarding Minister Jeyhun Bayramov's participation in the event at the European Policy Center (EPC)

On July 19, 2022, within the framework of his working visit to Brussels, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, participated in an event held at the European Policy Center (EPC).

 

Officials of various political institutions of the European Union, representatives of the European Parliament, employees of the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, employees of various think tanks, media representatives, and employees of the diplomatic corps operating in Belgium and others participated in the event entitled "EPC talks geopolitics with Jeyhun Bayramov" organized at the European Policy Center with the support of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Belgium.         
 

Speaking at the event moderated by EPC's Senior Policy Analyst Amanda Paul, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, talked about important issues of the partnership between Azerbaijan and the European Union, including the recent meeting of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen in Baku, informed about the signed Memorandum of Understanding on Strategic Partnership in the field of energy, and noting that Azerbaijan is a reliable partner for Europe, emphasized that our country plays an important role in Europe's energy security.  
 

Noting that Azerbaijan is an exporter of electricity today, the Minister expressed confidence that electricity obtained from green sources will be exported to Europe in the coming years.  

In addition, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the event participants about the large-scale works carried out in the territories liberated from occupation, and noted with satisfaction that today a group of IDP families returned to the village of Aghali of Zangilan district liberated from occupation.   
 
Afterwards, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov answered numerous questions addressed by the participants, including the recent situation in the South Caucasus after the Second Karabakh war, transport links, efforts to achieve peace, as well as exchange of views took place on the situation in Ukraine, the results of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the EU and Azerbaijan in the field of energy.
