No:308/22, Head of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan L.Abdullayeva responds the media's question
Question: Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces Sahak Sahakyan, at a meeting with the parents of conscripts, said that in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, Armenian conscripts will be replaced by contractors. How would you comment on this statement of the Armenian official?
Answer: The information spread in the Armenian media with reference to the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, is clearly another confession made by Armenian official regarding the sending of illegal military units to Azerbaijani territories.
This is a gross violation by Armenia of the trilateral statement dated November 9, 2020. We remind that the Article 4 of this statement stipulates the withdrawal of Armenian armed forces from the territories of Azerbaijan, in parallel with the deployment of Russian peacekeeping contingent to these territories. For our part, previously we have repeatedly stated that the Armenian side violates the provisions of the trilateral statement, including the complete withdrawal of illegal armed groups from Azerbaijani territories.
Now, while Azerbaijan is taking steps to normalize relations and build peace in the post-conflict period, this approach by the Armenian side clearly demonstrates the latter's interest in creating tension in the region, not peace.
This statement by the Armenian official shows that the talks of the Armenian side about peace is nothing but hypocrisy.
It also clearly shows the aggressive policy of the Armenian side.
