No: 275/25, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan

On 25 June 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Anas Eltayeb Elgailani Mustafa.
During the meeting, the Ambassador presented a copy of his credentials to Minister Jeyhun Bayramov. The Minister congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in his diplomatic mission in our country.
Subsequently, the bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda between the two countries, including the current situation in the region and security issues, were discussed.
The sides noted the importance of political dialogue in the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Sudan, as well as cooperation within multilateral platforms. The importance of the consultations mechanism between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, the working group on economic cooperation, and mutual visits was emphasized. Satisfaction was expressed with Sudan’s support for Azerbaijan’s positions and initiatives within international organizations, particularly the United Nations (UN), the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Non-Aligned Movement. Gratitude was expressed for the allocation of educational scholarships by Azerbaijan to Sudanese students.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, in turn, provided the Ambassador with detailed information on the period of Armenia’s 30-year occupation, as well as the peace process and reconstruction measures in the post-conflict period.
During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
