No:254/24, Press release on the meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, Annalena Baerbock

On 11 June 2024, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, Annalena Baerbock, within the framework of his working visit to Germany.
During the meeting, the ministers noted that they attach great importance to Azerbaijan–Germany relations and are interested in further expanding cooperation.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that within the framework of Azerbaijan hosting the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) this year, there are additional opportunities for cooperation with the German side. In this context, the importance of the joint successful organization of the Petersberg Dialogue, as well as the Bonn Conference currently being held, was noted.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, speaking about the current situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, as well as the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, brought to attention the existing problems and opportunities within the framework of the peace process. In this context, it was recalled that the ongoing claim against the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan in the Constitution of Armenia constitutes an obstacle to the signing of a peace agreement.
During the meeting, other regional issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
