On 20 June 2025, a telephone conversation was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Australia, Penny Wong.
During the telephone conversation, the existing security situation resulting from the Israel-Iran confrontation was discussed.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Australia provided information on her country’s plans for the evacuation of its citizens from Iran and expressed gratitude for the support provided by Azerbaijan.
The ministers also exchanged views on bilateral issues of mutual interest and emphasized the importance of the consultation mechanism between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries.
