No:247/24, Press release on the telephone conversation between Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia, Margus Tsahkna

On 5 June 2024, a telephone conversation was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia, Margus Tsahkna.
During the telephone conversation, the current state and prospects of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Estonia, the ongoing processes in the region, as well as the Azerbaijan–Armenia normalization process were discussed.
The ministers emphasized that the intensification of bilateral political dialogue and mutual visits is of importance for the further development of relations between the two countries, as well as the importance of meetings within the framework of the mechanism of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided the other side with information on the prospects of the Azerbaijan–Armenia normalization process, as well as on the recent steps serving peace and stability in the region and confidence-building between the two countries. It was noted that alongside a number of issues requiring resolution in the peace process, there is broad potential for achieving tangible progress overall. The Minister noted the significance of the latest agreement reached between the delimitation commissions, which includes the return of 4 villages of our country that were under occupation by Armenia and the delimitation of a certain part of the border.
At the same time, it was stated that within the framework of Azerbaijan’s presidency of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), additional opportunities have been created for cooperation between our countries in the direction of transition to green energy.
During the telephone conversation, an exchange of views was also held on other regional and bilateral issues of mutual interest.
