On 17 June 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, received the delegation led by the Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Afrim Gashi.
During the meeting, issues on the current bilateral and multilateral agenda between Azerbaijan and North Macedonia, inter-parliamentary relations, as well as regional issues were discussed.
During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the growing dynamism of high-level mutual visits and contacts between our countries in recent times, and in this context, the importance of meetings between our leaders, the increasing dialogue between our parliaments, contacts between the ministers of foreign affairs, as well as the mechanism of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs was noted.
It was noted that, along with other important areas between the two countries, there are broad prospects for the development of partnership in the fields of traditional and renewable energy.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided the other side with detailed information on the situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, the progress of the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process, and the factors hindering this process. It was brought to attention that, in order to sign a final peace agreement between the sides, it is necessary to eliminate the territorial claims against Azerbaijan in the Constitution of Armenia and to abolish institutions such as the Minsk Group that have already lost their relevance.
During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
