No:238/25, Press release on the training program for foreign diplomats

On 10 June, the “Advanced Foreign Service Program for Foreign Diplomats (AFSP)” was launched through joint cooperation between the Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA) operating under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ADA University.
The program, held annually, aims to promote the development of human capital at the international level, the promotion of Azerbaijan, and the strengthening of cooperation.
This year, 30 foreign diplomats from 27 countries, mainly representing regions such as Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Pacific, and Eastern Europe, are participating in the program.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Head of AIDA Elmaddin Mehdiyev informed foreign diplomats about the purpose and significance of the program and spoke about Azerbaijan’s achievements in the field of international assistance as a new donor country.
Speaking on behalf of ADA University, Head of the Professional Development Program and Advisor to the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Aygun Hajiyeva provided detailed information on the content of the program and various international-level training programs implemented by ADA University.
Within the program, which will continue until 21 June of the current year, foreign diplomats will be provided with training sessions and lectures on various topics, including foreign policy, effective diplomatic practice, energy and climate diplomacy, education, tourism, and digital innovation, delivered by the academic staff of ADA University, experienced diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as experts from a number of state institutions.
In addition, it is planned for participants to hold familiarization meetings at a number of official institutions and organizations, to gain comprehensive information about the rich history and culture of our country, as well as to visit the cities of Shusha and Khankendi.
It should be recalled that more than 120 diplomats from over 70 countries have participated in the program, which is being held for the eighth time. With this year’s participants, the number of countries represented in the program has reached 90, and the number of participating foreign diplomats has reached approximately 150.
