No:231/22, Information of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Uruguay
On May 11, 2022 in Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay, the next (second) political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay were held.
From the Azerbaijani side, the delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov, and from the Uruguayan side – by Deputy Foreign Minister of this country Carolina Ache Batlle.
During the political consultations, the current state of bilateral relations, as well as the expansion of cooperation in political, economic, agricultural, transport, energy and humanitarian spheres were discussed.
Deputy Minister E.Mammadov informed the opposite side about the new political realities in the region after the Patriotic war, the restoration and reconstruction work carried out in the liberated territories, the measures and large-scale projects implemented by Azerbaijan, and also noted the importance of international transport corridors passing through the territory of Azerbaijan, in terms of expanding trade relations between the Far East, Central Asia and Europe.
The sides also exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation within regional and international organizations.
On the same day, Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov met with members of the Uruguay-Azerbaijan friendship group of the Foreign Relations Commission of the House of Representatives of the Uruguayan Parliament.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the expansion of inter-parliamentary relations, the development of bilateral cooperation, the ongoing processes in the South Caucasus region and other issues of mutual interest.
