On 15 April 2024, within the framework of his working visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, Badr Albusaidi.
During the meeting, the current level of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Oman, issues on the agenda, and prospects for the development of cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, energy, tourism, water resources management, healthcare, and other areas were discussed.
It was noted that the continuation of political consultations and the implementation of high-level mutual visits are important for the further development of relations. At the same time, it was emphasized that the decision to establish an embassy in Oman will provide additional impetus to bilateral relations.
Satisfaction was expressed with the existing successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and Oman within international organizations, particularly the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Non-Aligned Movement, and the United Nations.
It was highlighted that Azerbaijan will host the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) this year, and that this will create additional opportunities for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Oman.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
