On 18 April, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia Kevin Hamilton within the framework of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov conveyed his congratulations to Ambassador Hamilton on his appointment to this position and wished him success in his activities.
During the meeting, the prospects for the development of partnership relations between Azerbaijan and NATO were discussed.
Azerbaijan’s long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation with NATO was highly appreciated, and the importance of activities carried out within the framework of the Partnership for Peace program was emphasized. The benefits of partnership tools and joint projects between Azerbaijan and NATO for the development of cooperation prospects were noted.
The visit of the ambassadors of NATO member states to our country in November last year was recalled with satisfaction, and it was stated that such visits are highly beneficial.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the counterpart about the current situation in the region, the normalization process with Armenia in the post-conflict period, the restoration and reconstruction works in the territories liberated from occupation, as well as the steps taken towards ensuring sustainable peace.
At the same time, views were exchanged on the challenges observed in the international security environment, including geopolitical tensions and regional conflicts.
