On 8 April, a telephone conversation was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
During the phone call, the sides discussed the current security situation in the region.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, welcoming the ceasefire achieved between the United States and Iran, emphasized that this is an important step in terms of reducing tension, strengthening stability, and improving the humanitarian situation.
The important role played by the friendly and brotherly Pakistani side in achieving the ceasefire was especially appreciated. Pakistan was wished success in its efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region, establishing dialogue between the sides and strengthening trust, as well as in the upcoming Islamabad negotiations. Hope was expressed that the Islamabad negotiations will yield positive results.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov highly appreciated the consistent and principled position of Pakistan, as well as its constructive initiatives.
The Ministers also exchanged views on other regional and international issues of mutual interest and discussed the prospects for the development of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan partnership.
