On 21 March 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mohammad Ishaq Dar within the framework of the Nuclear Energy Summit held in Brussels.
During the meeting, the Ministers discussed the bilateral friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan based on mutual trust, solidarity and respect, cooperation prospects, and the current situation in the region.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov conveyed his sincere congratulations to his counterpart on his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs and wished him success in this responsible position.
Satisfaction was expressed with the high level of cooperation between the two countries, including the existing political dialogue, and the importance of high-level and highest-level visits, including contacts, in all directions was emphasized.
It was brought to attention that there is broad potential for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan in the fields of economy, transport, trade and other areas.
At the meeting, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided detailed information to his counterpart on the preparations for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), the restoration and reconstruction works in the territories liberated from occupation, smart city and green energy projects, the ongoing mine threat, as well as the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process.
During the meeting, the Ministers also exchanged views on other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
